LoL Pro League China team, Royal Never Give UP (RNG) has won their second Mid-Season Invitational title on Sunday (29/5/22), with a 3-2 record over hometown favorite LoL Champions Korea team, T1 at MSI 2022 Finals in Busan, South Korea.

As we all know, both teams were also the two pre-season tournament favorites this year. Surprisingly, it was RNG, the underdogs of the tournament who came out on top. This also means that RNG became the first team to win 3 MSI Titles. 

On the other hand, T1 must accept the result, where they didn’t win another international title despite their best effort at MSI 2022 or at World 2021. It was a tight BO5 game in the finals, as both teams were throwing everything in their arsenal.

First things first, RNG won the 1st, 3rd, and the last game while T1 won the rest of it. RNG started the finals off with a pretty aggressive gameplay where they won convincingly against a confusing T1 draft, with T1 Gumayusi pick Caitlyn and Zeus pick Jayce. Both champions aren’t even meta picks in the tournament. As a result, those picks backfired really badly.

As for game 2, T1 rose back up thanks to T1 Faker’s amazing performance with Lissandra on mid lane. Of course, both teams came back bloodthirsty in game 3. Though, RNG’s effort came through before their opponent, as they managed to get 3 kills in the early phase. After that, the flow of the game went to the RNG side where they smoothly defeat T1 in this game.

With their backs against the wall, the Korea representatives managed to once again bounce back and defeat RNG in game 4, forcing them to play once more in game 5. Now that the title hung in the balance, both teams went crazier in the deciding match. In the end, T1 found themselves outplayed by RNG, where they managed to advance and took the final decider under 30 minutes with a 15-3 kills lead.
