Riot, the developer of VALORANT, has finally revealed the name of 30 teams that will compete in the VALORANT League 2023 franchise. These details were released yesterday (21/9/22) through Riot’s official website.
There are three regions that will become the center of VCT League 2023, namely VCT AMERICA, VCT EMEA, and VCT PACIFIC. All three contain top teams that have been carefully screened by Riot.
1. VCT America
VCT Americas includes teams based from North America (NA), Brazil (BR), and Latin America (LATAM). While North America was offered five slots, the remaining five were split between the other two regions.
- 100 Thieves (100T)
- Cloud9 (C9)
- Evil Geniuses (EG)
- NRG
- Sentinels (SEN)
- KRÜ Esports (KRU)
- FURIA (FUR)
- LOUD
- Leviatán (LEV)
- MIBR
2. VCT EMEA
Riot Games recognizes that EMEA is vast and has a great FPS pedigree. Experience and gameplay as well as mechanics from all teams are considered very qualified to be able to compete with representatives from other regions.
- Fnatic (FNC)
- Team Liquid (TL)
- Team Vitality (VIT)
- Karmine Corp (KCorp)
- Giants (GIA)
- Team Heretics (HER)
- Fut Esports (FUT)
- Natus Vincere
- BBL Esports
- KOI
3. VCT PACIFIC
The Pacific region will bring together teams from various regions in Asia. Teams from Asia Pacific (APAC), South Asia (SA), and East Asia (EA) will battle each other in this region.
Riot ensures that this list is carefully selected so the dynamic competition from countries and regions in Asia-Pacific is well represented.
- Paper Rex (PRX)
- ZETA DIVISION (ZETA)
- Detonation Gaming
- T1
- G (GEN)
- DRX
- Team Secret (TS)
- Talon Esports
- Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ)
- Global Esports (GE)
Of the entire list, there are of course some turmoils within the VALORANT community. A lot of fans could not accept Riot's policy of not including their idol team.
The two most mentioned names are FunPlus Phoenix and OpTic Gaming. Even though both of them played well in the 2022 VALORANT Champions, Riot seemed indifferent and didn’t bother to get them to join the 2023 VALORANT League.
