The IESF 2023 National Selection will begin on Monday (26/6/23) today with four teams participating, namely EVOS Legends (IESF 2022 champion), EVOS Icon (MDL ID Season 7 champion), and the Women's MLBB National Team (2023 SEA Games champion, gold medal). The last slot is occupied by the H3RO 4.0 tournament champion, Bigetron Alpha.

There should be 5 teams participating in the IESF 2023 National Selection, namely ONIC Esports as the MPL ID Season 11 champion. However, ONIC Esports confirmed its withdrawal from this seleknas. What is the reason?

ONIC Esports, who are MSC and MPL champions, are confirmed not becoming Indonesia's representatives at IESF 2023 after announcing their withdrawal on social media.

ONIC Esports expressed their gratitude to PB ESI for entrusting ONIC Esports to participate in the IESF 2023 National Selection. However, they also apologized to the fans and the Indonesian MLBB esports community for not participating in the selection.

ONIC's consideration for not participating in the National Seleknas is due to the condition of the players after a long tournament, as well as the lack of preparation time. ONIC appealed to fans to continue to support the Indonesian esports team to continue to achieve international achievements.

From the PB ESI side, PB ESI Special Staff Secretary General Debora Imanuella also spoke up in response to the issue of ONIC being absent from the IESF 2023 National Seleknas. Launching from Halaman1, Debora revealed that PB ESI must have submitted player names to the IESF by the end of June.

"Actually ONIC is really excited. So, basically every tournament has a deadline to submit names, so we (PB ESI only) follow the rules," said Debora.

With ONIC absent, the battle bracket at the 2023 IESF National Seleknas is complete. Launching from Liquipedia, the inaugural battle of the 2023 IESF National Seleknas will directly match EVOS Legends with Bigetron Alpha. Then, followed by a battle between EVOS Icon and the MBB Women's National Team.
