BOOM Esports has become the first team from Southeast Asia to qualify for the upcoming PGL Arlington Major. The team managed to defeat Fnatic in the SEA Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) 2021-22 Tour 3: Division 1 with a final score of 2-0 on Saturday (9/7/22) evening.
This also means that for the first time in history, a team from Indonesia will compete in the Major Dota 2 tournament. BOOM Esports won against their closest rival, Fnatic and ranked first in the standings to secure the top 3 positions to advance to the PGL Arlington Major 2022.
In addition, BOOM Esports is also the third team to secure a slot at the PGL Major Arlington 2022, after OG Esports and Tundra Esports who had already secured their slot first. The PGL Arlington Major 2022 itself will take place from August 4 to August 14, 2022 and will be the last Major series from Valve before The International (TI) 11.
This last Major of DOTA Pro Circuit 2021-2022 will be held in Texas, specifically in The largest dedicated esports facility in North America, Esports Stadium Arlington. A total of 18 best teams in the world will battle for the $500k prize pool and this will be their last chance to earn points to qualify to TI11.
Spectators will be allowed into the arena, so every DOTA 2 fan will have the chance to witness the match and feel the excitement of the arena.
