Great news from the competitive Dota 2 scene, apparently the next Major will be held in Indonesia. This news certainly makes the Dota 2 community in Southeast Asia excited to welcome the new season of DPC next year. However, do note that there is still no official statement from Valve as the developer and organizer.
It seems that seeing the result of the annual The International 11 event held in Singapore this year, made Valve really want to go back there. The enthusiasm of South-east Asian Dota 2 fans is still the best.
This statement was supported by interviews with several professional players who agreed that the Singapore Major was the best major event they had played because of the massive intensity of the crowd.
Reportedly, Valve has now appointed a Southeast Asian country to host the Dota 2 Major event next year, and that country is Indonesia. This, of course, was welcomed positively by the Indonesian Dota 2 community. This will also mark the first Major to be held in Indonesia!
After years of only being able to enjoy the Major on the monitor screen, finally next year fans in Indonesia will see the excitement and crazy actions of Dota 2 players right in front of their eyes! Of course we who live in the neighboring country are also invited to come.
The 2022-23 DPC Major will first take place in Peru, then Poland, and end in Indonesia. Next season's DPC event will use a new format, where teams in the second division will not start as long as the first division has not been completed. A longer season? Why not!
