ESL recently posted a tweet on their X (Twitter) that read: "The DreamLeague you've all been waiting for and love is back with Season 21!" No kidding, the prize pool on offer is a whopping $1 million.
ESL DreamLeague is a tournament that is always held in almost every "quiet" period before a big tournament is held. Some time ago before the Bali Major, they held ESL DreamLeague Season 20.
Although many netizens labeled this tournament as a "pre-season tournament", almost all tier one teams participated in this tournament for various reasons. Some want to make this tournament a warm-up event, or use it as a platform to try out new strategies.
This tournament will be held on September 18 to 24 and will be held online. This one tournament is also believed to be the finale before The International 2023 starts in October. However, it does not rule out the possibility of other tournaments.
ESL also added one word that stole the show a bit. This time, they'll be using a new format with the same vibe as past DreamLeague tournaments. It's not yet clear what the format will be, but it will certainly be a bit different from the tournaments that have been there.
ESL has also shared some of the teams that have been confirmed to fight in the tournament with a prize pool of $1 million. The teams are divided into regions including Western and Eastern Europe, North and South America, China, and Southeast Asia.
The teams already listed are Gaimin Gladiators, Team Spirit, Talon Esports, Evil Geniuses, Shopify Rebellion, Nine Esports, Team Liquid, BetBoom Team, Quest Esports, and Tundra Esports. There are still two empty slots available on this participant list
