On Monday (11/9/23), the roster of professional players who will represent Indonesia at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games was announced, including the Dota 2 team. In the lineup, there are players who had represented Indonesia and there are also some new players.
Here is the complete list of Dota 2 rosters that will represent Indonesia at the 2022 Asian Games:
- Brizio Adi "Hyde" Putra Budiana (Pelatih)
- Daud “db-” Budiawan (Offlaner)
- Tri “Jhocam” Kuncoro (Soft Support)
- Randy Muhammad "Dreamocel" Sapoetra (Hard Carry)
- Rizky "Varizh" Varizh (Hard Support)
- Muhammad "inYourdreaM" Rizky (Midlaner)
- Sya'id Mohammad "womy" Resky (Offlaner)
There are three new names that have never played for the Indonesian national team, Rizky "Varizh" Varizh, Muhammad "inYourdreaM" Rizky, and Daud "db-" Budiawan. All three are known to play in one team, Army Geniuses.
Army Geniuses is the only Indonesian team that still trusts local players from Indonesia. In the Army Geniuses team there is only one non-Indonesian player, Yuri "Yowe" Pacaña.
The other three names are familiar because these names have already played for the Indonesian national team in the IESF 2022 and 2023 tournaments.
The inclusion of Muhammad "inYourdreaM" Rizky into the lineup certainly made headlines in various media outlets considering he is one of the most recognizable personas in the competitive Dota 2 scene as well as livestreaming.
With this new lineup, we can say that Indonesia's chances of winning the 2022 Asian Games are even greater considering that almost all of the players are players who have played in the Dota Pro Circuit.
Of course, it all comes back to the game plan and preparation done by these players. Currently, they are undergoing national training held offline in Jakarta.
They will be preparing to compete in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, from September 28 to October 8, 2023 along with several other game titles.
