LoL 2022 World Championship Participating Teams List

The League of Legends 2022 World Championship has finally revealed its list of participating teams and will start the competition soon. The international competition will take place offline ini the United States and Mexico on September 29 - November 5, 2022.

After going through several regional competitions, there are now 12 participating teams who will compete directly in the main event of the LoL 2022 World Championship, with four more slots to be filled. Here’s the twelve who has secured their tickets:

  1. JD Gaming (China) – LPL Summer
  2. Top Esports (China) – LPL Championship Points
  3. EDward Gaming (China) – LPL Regional Finals
  4. Gen.G Esports (Korea) – LCK Summer
  5. T1 (Korea) – LCK Championship Points
  6. DAMWON Gaming (Korea) – LCK Regional Finals
  7. Rogue (Europe) – LEC Summer
  8. G2 Esports (Europe) – LEC Summer
  9. Cloud9 (North America) – LCS Summer
  10. 100 Thieves (North America) – LCS Summer
  11. CTBC Flying Oyster (TW/HK/MC/SEA) – PCS Summer
  12. GAM Esports (Vietnam) – VCS Summer

The four slots will later be filled by teams who topped the Play-in stage, which will be held from September 29 - October 2. Another 12 teams will compete in this stage, where they are divided into two groups in a best of one Match:

  1. Beyond Gaming (TW/HK/MC/SEA) – PCS Summer
  2. Chiefs Esports Club (Oceania) – LCO Split 2
  3. DetonatioN FocusMe (Japan) – LJL Summer
  4. DRX (Korea) – LCK Regional Finals
  5. Evil Geniuses (North America) – LCS Summer
  6. Fnatic (Europe) – LEC Summer
  7. Istanbul Wildcats (Turkey) – TCL Summer
  8. Isurus (Latin America) – LLA Closing
  9. LOUD (Brazil) – CBLOL Split 2
  10. MAD Lions (Europe) – LEC Summer
  11. Royal Never Give Up (China) – LPL Regional Finals
  12. Saigon Buffalo (Vietnam) – VCS Summer

In the Play-in Stage, the top team from each group will immediately advance to the Group Stage, while the two bottom teams will be immediately eliminated.

The 2nd to 4th place will have another chance and continue to Play-in Stage Round 2, which will take place on October 3-4 to find the last two teams to fill the remaining slots. The Group Stage will then take place through October 7-10 and 13-16, while the Playoff will be held on October 20-23, 29-30, and November 5, 2022.
