MPL Philippines (PH) finally followed the footsteps of MPL Indonesia to present Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Development League (MDL) or tier 2 tournament which is aimed at community teams in the Philippines.

The rumors about MDL PH itself have already appeared before MPL PH Season 10 rolled out in August 2022. Various news revealed that the tournament, which aims to provide a place for amateur players to fight in professional tournaments, will be there for the Philippines along with the start of the tenth season.

Unfortunately, MDL PH Season 1 didn't come together with MPL PH Season 10, breaking these rumors. It's quite surprising, considering that MDL Indonesia has already run its sixth season.

After MPL PH Season 10 ended, news about MDL PH has not resonated because the community of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is focusing on the M4 World Championship, the highest tournament MLBB which will be held in Jakarta on 1 - 15 January 2023.

Finally, a surprising announcement appeared from MPL PH, where MDL PH will be officially held. Even though the date for this tournament has not yet been announced, MPL PH confirmed that MDL PH will debut in 2023. 

However, MPL PH hasn't announced the format that will be used in the inaugural season of MDL PH, whether using a system like MDL ID where MPL teams can have their "junior team" in MDL which will be played against 2-4 teams tier 2, or it will have a completely new system.

With the presence of MDL PH, we will be presented with the performance of amateur players MLBB from the Philippines are as strong as the pros. MDL PH allows for the presence of new Filipino players with high-class performances like OhMyV33nus, Kairi, or Karltzy.

It will be interesting to wait and see whether PH players will keep on dominating the MLBB scene after the arrival of MDL PH Season 1 in 2023 or not!
