MSC 2023 Announce New Format!

Moonton and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang are making various innovations to keep their esports growing worldwide, and most recently they announced a new format for the MSC 2023 tournament which is no longer reserved for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports teams from the Southeast Asia (SEA) region.

Since its inception, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) has always been a platform that brings together the best MLBB esports teams in Southeast Asia. This tournament is held in the MPL odd season in each country.

Fierce battles are always presented at the MSC event every year. However, the allocation of slots that are only for Southeast Asian MLBB esports teams makes MSC's prestige not as high as the M-Series which brought in teams from countries outside the Asian continent.

This reason had an impact on the MPL odd season tournament, where many well-known players decided to take a break so they could perform more optimally in the MPL even season which has a prize in the form of an M-Series slot.

Therefore, Moonton and MLBB Esports announced a new tradition for MSC, which included three new regions to join the tournament. These regions are North America, the Middle East, and North Africa.

The presence of this new tradition is in line with the vision of MLBB Esports "Esports for Everyone". This new tournament format will increase the diversity of teams and participants as the level of competition in Southeast Asia has reached its peak.

MSC New Format Slot Allocation 2023
Here's the slot allocation with the new format for MSC 2023:

MPL Indonesia: 2 Slots

MPL Philippines: 2 Slots

Mekong Qualifier (Laos, Thailand, Vietnam): 1 Slot

MPL Cambodia: 1 Slot

MPL Malaysia: 1 Slot

MPL Singapore: 1 Slots

Myanmar Qualifiers: 1 Slot

MPL MENA: 1 Slot

North America Challenger Tournament: 1 Slot

MLBB Turkey Championship: 1 Slot

With the presence of a new format, MSC 2023 as a mid-season tournament has expanded to the international arena. MSC 2023 can also be a competitive warm-up event for MLBB esports teams before competing in the M5 World Championship which will be held in the Philippines.
