A new record was created in one of The International (TI) 2022 Main Event matches which brought together Royal Never GiveUp (RNG) against Entity. The match became the longest match during the TI show!
The two teams fought in a total time of 107 minutes or the equivalent of 2 hours 17 minutes. The match was fierce and had moments that invited comments, including a sad story from the RNG team.
As we know, four out of five RNG players tested positive for COVID-19 so they couldn't play in the venue. Fortunately, they can still play at their respective shelters.
However, xNova had to be willing to come to the venue alone. Instead of his colleagues, the IT committee placed four teddy bears wearing masks. This scene certainly invites emotion in the audience.
The match between RNG and Entity itself was fierce because both teams were in the lower bracket. That is, whoever loses must be willing to go home first from the tournament.
After fighting desperately, RNG finally had to give up because the Entity was able to claim 8 Roshan and several divine rapiers. During the match, the audience often cheered xNova's name to support him.
Not only that but there were also many pro players who supported RNG, especially xNova who had to compete alone at the venue. Sadness was seen on his face when he and his team were officially eliminated from the tournament.
There was one incident that ruined the excitement of this match when one of the Entity Fishman players paused just before the RNG ancient was destroyed. According to a statement from the team, the incident occurred accidentally when Fishman threw his headset. However, the public does not believe this.
Hopefully, RNG will be able to make a louder comeback at the next The International!
