RRQ Hoshi vs. Blacklist International Match Sets Record for Most Popular MLBB Esports Matches

Indonesia's RRQ Hoshi has failed to defeat their international rival, Blacklist International in a fierce derby for the throne of the upper bracket final. However, there is one thing for RRQ to be proud of from this match, which is its skyrocketing popularity that surpasses any esports match in MLBB.

According to Esports Charts, the fiery duel between RRQ Hoshi and Blacklist International reached a peak viewership of 4.2 million viewers. This figure far surpasses the previous record held by the Royal Derby match (RRQ Hoshi vs. ONIC Esports) at the M3 World Championship, which managed to score peak viewers at 3.1 million viewers.

The numbers clearly prove that the entire MLBB scene aren’t losing the hype of a massive battle between two titans in the MLBB scene, which rarely happened,

Esports Charts reported that the peak viewership of the RRQ Hoshi vs. Blacklist International match has made the M4 World Championship the top esports tournament in 2023 so far, and competing esports game tournaments still have a long way to go to match M4's viewership

On an all-time timescale, MLBB is already the #3 most popular esports tournament based on peak viewership. Only 2 competing games remain on the throne, namely Free Fire via FFWS 2021 Singapore which scored 5.41 million viewers and League of Legends via 2022 World Championship which scored 5.14 million viewers.

Thanks to this, the M4 World Championship will surely go down in the history books as one of the most popular official MLBB esports events of all time, or there could be a match in the near future that's so fierce that it'll generate an even bigger viewership.

What do you think, guys? Considering all the cheers and excitement that went into the RRQ Hoshi vs. Blacklist International match, do you think this match could make history as the best and most popular match of all esports tournaments?
