Sparg0 managed to pull off a huge victory over MkLeo (fellow Mexican Smasher) at the MAJOR UPSET of 2023! This victory is quite rare for Sparg0, as MkLeo has often been his last obstacle to victory in other Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournaments.

After a disappointing 13th-place finish at the Smash Ultimate Summit 6 event in late March 2023, Sparg0 came back stronger in April 2023, defeating MkLeo and his Aegis (Pyra/Mythra) at Oregon's first Smash event, MAJOR UPSET.

However, it was not an easy journey for Sparg0. Initially, he lost to MkLeo in the Winner's Final Bracket, which sent him to the Loser's Final Bracket. There, he swept Riddles with a final score of 3-0 and earned a second chance to play MkLeo in the Grand Final. 

The match was a stark contrast to their previous encounter, where Sparg0 took a 3-0 win over MkLeo in the first round and then closed out the revenge match with a final score of 3-1.

This victory continues Sparg0's post-pandemic comeback. Back in 2021, he had defeated MkLeo which specifically cemented his position as one of the best Smashers. Now, the world will definitely recognize him more. 

As the Oregon’s MAJOR UPSET Champion, he gets to take home the grand prize of $7500. Congratulations!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now on Nintendo Switch. Despite being an older title, the game has aged well. Its gameplay has also inspired Warner Bros. to create MultiVersus, which is just as exciting.
