After officially parting ways with BOOM Esports, Indonesian Dota 2 player Kenny "Xepher" Deo is ready to embark on a new adventure in another country. Not as a player, but as an assistant coach for the Blacklist Rivalry team.
The 27-year-old player officially joined as the newest member of the Blacklist International Dota 2 team through their Twitter account uploaded on Thursday (3/8/23) local time. In the tweet, Xepher was introduced not as a player, but as an assistant coach.
Not only announcing Xepher, Blacklist Rivalry also officially introduced former Nigma Galaxy SEA manager, Adam "343" Shah, as their new coach.
Xepher is one of the veteran professional Dota 2 players from Indonesia. Previously, there were six teams that Xepher had defended as a player, namely RRQ, TNC Tigers, Tigers, Geek Fam, T1, and finally BOOM Esports.
The highlight of his career as a professional Dota 2 player was when Xepher defended T1 and appeared at The International 10. Unfortunately, T1 was only able to advance to the third round of the lower bracket after being defeated by Vici Gaming with a final score of 1-2.
Now, Xepher's new task as Blacklist Rivalry's assistant coach is to bring the Filipino team to The International 2023. Blacklist Rivalry is scheduled to appear in The International 2023 Southeast Asia Qualifier against 14 other teams, such as Execration, Bleed Esports, and Team SMG.
In addition, they will also have to face off against Geek Fam, Army Geniuses, BOOM Esports, Neon Esports, Made in Philippines, Polaris Esports, Myth Avenue Gaming, IHC Esports, SPAWN Team, UD Vessuwan, and Vision.
Will Xepher in his new role help Blacklist International make it to The International 2023?
