MSC 2022 Malaysia Playoffs Day 5

The MSC 2022 Playoffs have finished their 5th day, where the 2 finalists for the upcoming Grand Final have been decided. Who are they and how did they win? Find it out below, on these short recap from matches that happened yesterday (18/6):

RRQ Hoshi vs RSG PH

The day started with the final upper bracket match between the last Indonesian representatives and the MPL PH S9 champ. RRQ Hoshi managed to win the first two games, where their teamwork worked effectively against RSG PH. R7 and Vyn’s played an important role in those games.

Then came game 3, where it’s RSG PH’s turn to dominate the game. It seems that they’re not done yet and forced RRQ Hoshi to play the 4th game. Unfortunately, RSG PH couldn’t hold their momentum and were wiped out by RRQ Hoshi in this game. With this, RRQ Hoshi got the first Grand Final slot and will wait for the winner of Lower Bracket Final.

Omega Esports vs Falcon Esports

The day continued with the second match, where the winner will face RSG PH who lost against RRQ Hoshi. The match is pretty straight forward with the end result of 3-0 for Omega Esports. The match kicked off with a really long game, which took almost 28 minutes to finish.

In this game, Falcon Esports actually lead the early to mid game. It’s just that Omega Esports is usually strong in the late game, especially with Cecilion in their lineup. Then, the rest of the games became easier for Omega Esports, since their opponent lost their focus somehow.

RSG PH vs Omega Esports

The last match of the day was the Lower Bracket Final, where RSG PH and Omega Esports fought for the last spot in the Grand Final. It took all five games to find the winner. We could see that both teams played with everything they got.

The first game was a test for both teams’ mentality, where it took 29 minutes to finish it with a win for team Omega. However, RSG PH managed to equalize the standing after  their opponent made some mistakes in game 2. Trying to made up for their mistakes in the last game, Omega Esports played more aggressively in game 3.

They did lead the game until RSG PH stole the third turtle. After that, the game turned 180 degrees, where the MPL PH S9 champ got all the lords for the rest of the game. What an epic comeback from RSG PH.

Omega Esports wasn’t done yet, where they won the 4th game with only focusing on their objectives and only a few teamfights. In the final game, RSG PH took their revenge from the last game with their aggressive play, won the last ticket to the Grand Final and will once again face RRQ Hoshi for the glory.
