MSC 2023 as the professional tournament of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang applies a different tournament format. This year, MSC is not only limited to Southeast Asian teams, but also includes other regions, such as North America, Turkey, and MENA. The total number of participating teams is 12 teams.
The competition organized by Moonton will be held offline in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Kick off will begin on June 10 until June 18, 2023.
Ahead of the competition which will begin through the upcoming group stage, Moonton also held a Gala event on Thursday (8/6/23). Here, participants from across the region can meet.
As the Philippines, Indonesia this year has the privilege of having two tickets in this year's MSC. These two slots are filled by the Top 2 in the last MPL ID Season 11, which are ONIC Esports and EVOS Legends.
It was interesting to see the squad of both teams wearing batik at the Gala. This signature Indonesian outfit clearly reinforces #INDOPRIDE in this international competition.
With a casual match, the use of batik in this event looks youthful but still elegant. The rosters of both teams also wore batik with matching colors.
These two Indonesian teams will start the group phase which will begin tomorrow (10/6/23). EVOS Legends is in group B along with Myanmar's Fenix Esports and Singapore's RSG Slate. Meanwhile, ONIC Esports is in group C along with Cambodia's BURN x Flash and North America's Outplay representing NACT.
These group stage matches will be played in a Bo3 format. The Top 2 from each team will qualify for the Playoffs. That means, the bottom team from each group will be eliminated early.
Looking back, these two Indonesian teams are experienced teams in MSC competitions and have good records. ONIC Esports is the MSC 2019 champion, while EVOS Legends came third in MSC 2021.
