Paper Rex's Story, From Behind to become VCT 2023 Pacific Champion
To facing the Grand Final of VCT 2023 Pacific, Paper Rex fielded f0rsakeN, mindfreak, d4v41, Something, and also Jinggg. Among the Paper Rex players, there are 2 Indonesian players, namely Jason Susanto (f0rsakeN) and Aaron Leonhart (mindfreak).
With that powerful roster, it seemed that Lady Luck was not on Paper Rex's side in the first half of the summit clash. In game 1, the game was DRX's to lose, thanks to a great set-up and execution that left f0rsakeN and friends overwhelmed.
Meanwhile, game 2 was a roller coaster ride. Although Paper Rex had control of the field, they slipped, allowing DRX to steal the momentum and win game 2. 2-0 for DRX
With one game left, Paper Rex fought to the death. Something becoming the key to destroying DRX's winning momentum. DRX's set-ups were repeatedly broken down successfully through Something's masterclass.
With Something masterclass, Paper Rex success claiming victory after victory. At last, on game 5 finally Paper Rex success to claim victory. The reverse sweep mission was a success with score 3-2, and Paper Rex were officially the VCT 2023 Pacific champions.
