SumaiL to Hold Hearing Due to Contract with Evil Geniuses

One of the most talented players in the competitive Dota 2 scene, Sumail "SumaiL" Hassan, has recently become a topic of conversation again after he was found to be going to trial for his case with his former team, Evil Geniuses.

It is known that SumaiL has filed a lawsuit since December 2021, but the case was only developed and reached the trial period on November 6, 2023. This problem involving Evil Geniuses officials has suddenly become a hot topic of conversation.

Back in March, a reporter named Richard Lewis shared information that there was a case reported by one of the professional Dota 2 players, SumaiL, against his former team Evil Geniuses.

The former Nigma Galaxy player reported Evil Geniuses for unilaterally and forcibly taking advantage of a minor, namely himself. Lengthy discussions and mediation ensued, but SumaiL's legal team chose to pursue the matter further.

The issue started back in 2016 when SumaiL was signed to a 5-year contract by Evil Geniuses. The contract contained a salary and 400,000 share ownership given to SumaiL. However, in 2019, EG was purchased by Peak6 Strategic Capital Group.

And then the mess happened. Peak6 Strategic Capital Group did not acknowledge that SumaiL had a stake in the company and SumaiL finally realized that he had been subtly "tricked" by Evil Geniuses and filed a lawsuit.

It hasn't been a good year for SumaiL. After deciding to play with Team Aster, he failed to make it to The International 2023. SumaiL was temporarily loaned to Team Secret to replace Filipino midlaner Armel "Armel" Tabios.
