A surprising news was announced, that T1 decided to let Karl and Gabbi go as of a few hours ago. With this, T1 is officially looking for replacements, specifically carry and midlaner position before TI11 SEA Qualifiers starts.
T1 has released Kim "Gabbi" Villafuerte and Karl "Karl" Baldovino and announced their farewell on Twitter. Gabbi joined T1 in February 2022, replacing the previous Carry, Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon. While Karl “Karl” Baldovino has been a part of the lineup since October 2020.
Unfortunately, T1’s performances are disappointing these days where they failed to qualify for the Arlington Major 2022 and also failed to get a direct invite to TI11. Now that the qualification for TI11 is at stake, it looks like T1 is making some drastic measures to reform their teams before the SEA qualifier begins.
“All good things come to an end,” read the T1 announcement. “Today we announce the departure of 'Karl' and 'Gabbi' from our DOTA2 roster. Thank you for everything you’ve done and we wish them all the best for their future!”
Following the departure of Gabbi and Karl, the current T1’s Dota 2 roster consists of:
- Carlo "Kuku" Palado
- Kenny "Xepher" Deo
- Matthew "Whitemon" Philemon
The good news for T1 is that several top Dota 2 players such as Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen and Ryan "Raging Potato" Qui have free agent status. Will T1 aim for one of them?
TI11 Regional Qualifiers will start on September 3. The winning team will immediately qualify for TI11, while finishing second or third will get them to compete once more in the Last Chance Qualifiers for the tournament. What do you guys think? Who should T1 recruit to help them get a spot in TI11?
