The Olympic Games is a sports competition that competes in various sports and is the right place for athletes to show off. More than 200 countries have participated in 400 events in the summer and winter Olympics. Through its official page, the Olympic Games Committee announced that it will include esports in it, where there are nine branches of games that will be contested.
The Olympics is named, Olympic Esports Series (OES), which is a global virtual and simulation sports competition created by the IOC, in collaboration with various international federations and game publishers. OES 2023 will kick off on March 1 and invites both professional and amateur players from around the world to take part in the online qualifying round.
The climax is the live final for the first time at the first Olympic Esports Week from 22-25 June 2023 in Singapore. There are nine games that will be contested in this tournament. They are Tic Tac Bow (archery), WBSC eBASEBALL™: POWER PROS (baseball), Chess.com (chess), Zwift (cycling), Just Dance (dancing), Gran Turismo 7 (racing), Virtual Regatta (sailing), Tennis Clash (tennis), and Virtual Taekwondo (taekwondo). Some of these games sound familiar because these games are mirrored actual physical sports.
There are two unique games from the list that will be contested, namely racing and dancing. Gran Turismo 7 is a famous racing game made by Polyphony Inc. and the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) will provide drivers with the opportunity to compete in the Olympic Esports Series and take home the trophy.
Up next is Just Dance, a motion sensor-based music game developed and published by Ubisoft. The player uses the motion controller to mimic the dancer's choreography on the screen to earn points based on their accuracy.
