Riot Games has revealed more details for the upcoming VCT 2022 APAC Stage 2 Challengers, which is set to take place from June 9-26. The tournament will have 3 stages, including play-ins, group stage, and Playoffs. Twenty teams will duke it out to win the prize pool and the two spots to VCT 2022 Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen.

Play-Ins

Starting on June 9-12, eight teams will take part in the play-in stage, which is divided into two groups of four. Among those, you’ll find teams such as RRQ, BOOM Esports, Made in Thailand, and Bleed eSports. Only the top two teams from each group will advance to the group stage.

Group Stage

Three days after the play-in stage concluded, the group stage will then commence. Divided into 4 groups of four, only the top two teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs. In Group A, Gaimin Gladiators and Griffin Esports will be joined by ONIC Esports and a play-in team. 

On the other side, All eyes will be on Group B which consist of XERXIA Esports and Alter Ego, the current No. 2 and No. 5 in Asia-Pacific. They will be accompanied with the winner of the Skyesports Champions Series and a play-in team.

In Group C, Oceania’s ORDER and Philippines’ Oasis Gaming will face Paper Rex, the VCT APAC Stage 1 Challenger champions. Last but not least, Group D is filled with some of the APAC’s finest teams, such as Team Secret, FW Esports, and Fancy United Esports.

Playoffs

The Playoffs stage is scheduled to start on June 23, where eight best teams will fight for the top and reach the climax on June 26. The top two teams will secure their tickets to VCT 2022 Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen, which is set to take place on July 10-24.
